Community Hope purchased a vacant, foreclosed home in Chester Township, NJ in need of substantial renovation.
The home has three apartments – two one-bedroom units and one two-bedroom unit. The goal is to renovate the home which will provide permanent, affordable rental housing for four very low and low income veterans with a disability. In order to maximize the impact of the funds we have, we are rehabbing this home in partnership with Morris Habitat for Humanity and volunteers.
The home represented an opportunity to provide housing for low-income veterans in an area that has very little opportunity for such housing. In addition, as a foreclosure that had become a neighborhood eyesore, this was an opportunity to revitalize a home while serving those who had served our country.
