Community Hope, Inc. Receives Grant from the Bob Woodruff Foundation for its Supportive Services for Veteran Families program
Funding will help Community Hope provide assistance to veteran families that are homeless, or that are at risk of becoming homeless.
Parsippany, NJ – Community Hope, Inc., a local non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals with mental illness and homeless veterans, has received a grant from the Bob Woodruff Foundation.
This grant will be used in Community Hope’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families program. In this program, which operates in 15 counties in New Jersey, veteran families that are homeless are rapidly rehoused in suitable housing. Those families that are at risk of becoming homeless are helped with Temporary Financial Assistance. The Foundation’s award will be used to provide Temporary Financial Assistance to veteran families in need when Veterans Administration funds are unavailable. Funds from the grant will be used to pay for expenses related to home ownership, such as rent, utilities, rent/utility arrears, security deposits, moving costs, hotel placement, childcare costs, and transportation. At least 25 veteran households will be served with the grant during the course of the grant period.
“Community Hope is so honored to have been awarded a grant through the Bob Woodruff Foundation. The Foundation’s commitment to helping veterans and their families is truly inspiring. They have helped so many members of our community with grants to organizations that are on the front lines assisting veterans who are in need of help,” says Carmine V. Deo, MBA, MSW, LCSW, Chief Executive Officer of Community Hope. “We are so grateful for the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s generous support of our Supportive Services for Veteran Families program, which helps hundreds of veteran families every year.”
The grant is one of many investments that the Bob Woodruff Foundation has made in organizations serving veterans this year. The awards support programs and services that help veterans, service members, and the families of these brave individuals. Community Hope’s partnership with the Foundation will provide assistance to these at-risk and underserved members of New Jersey communities.

About the Bob Woodruff Foundation
The Bob Woodruff Foundation was founded in 2006 after reporter Bob Woodruff was wounded by a roadside bomb while covering the war in Iraq. Since then, the Bob Woodruff Foundation has raised awareness about the tough challenges veterans and military families are facing, and invested in solutions to help support them in the next chapter of their lives. To date, the Bob Woodruff Foundation has invested over $165 million to ensure that our nation’s veterans, service members, and their families — those who stood for us — have stable and successful futures.
