A Message from Our Executive Director
Greetings from Community Hope!
Our best wishes go out to you and your family to stay safe and healthy during this challenging time. We hope that you all are settling into new routines and are celebrating the positives when and where you can.
I wanted to bring you up to date on our experiences and operating adjustments during this Coronavirus pandemic.
- Since we are an essential business, we have continuously provided care to the people we serve at each increased precautionary level that has been ordered.
- We continue to follow the official guidance we are receiving from Federal, State, and local authorities.
- We have no confirmed COVID-19 cases for consumers, veterans, employees, or their families and almost all of our employees are available to work.
- Employees are working remotely where possible and we have reduced onsite staffing in our 24-hour residential programs to prevent community spread.
- Services continue to all consumers and veterans either by remote means or in person with proper precautions. The 24-hour programs are on shelter in place precautions.
- We are ensuring all consumers and veterans have essentials including food, medicine, cleaning supplies, and other critical items. We are shopping and doing drop offs for them as needed.
- We are monitoring personal protective equipment inventories and other essential supplies.
- Our financial operations have been uninterrupted and have contingencies in place for cash flow and emergent needs.
- Our VetFest event is postponed to September 13, 2020 and stay tuned for updates on our Flag Day Run/Walk and Sparkle of Hope events planned for later this year.
We all are in this together, and now, more than ever, we want to thank those who have supported us in the past, have assisted during this crisis, and will help us continue to achieve our mission to help those we serve get through this and thrive.
For 35 years, Community Hope has been a leader in serving people with mental illness and homeless veterans and their families across NJ. Our work continues day and night, and with the support of people like you, we will prevail.
On behalf of the Community Hope’s Board of Directors, our employees, and those we serve, we wish you well and hope that you remain in good health.
